Experience leads to better play

Junior league softball players are often seasoned, having played anywhere from 1-4 years. They are better hitters, pitchers, and fielders than the players you will see in the younger levels. Although you will find some first-time players in junior league play, they are the exception, not the norm. From that standpoint, junior league games are much more fun for the umpire. Instead of using valuable time to reinforce rules and concepts, you can focus more on calling the game. Junior league girls tend to be much more aggressive and will swing at most pitches that are around the plate. You can expect to make fewer strike calls and more calls on the bases.
