he most important thing when working a big game is to remember the basics. Your job as an umpire is no different, and the pressure should really be more on the players anyway. No umpire wants to blow a call in an important game, but worrying will only increase the chances of its happening. You should feel grateful for the opportunity to work a big game. It means that someone within the league has enough faith in your abilities to place the pivotal games in your hands. Seeing it as a reward, as opposed to a stressful encounter, should keep your emotions in check.
